Can it really be?

Well apparently yes, it is so. I PASSED MY 180 Q&A!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I cannot even begin to express how excited I am about this accomplishment. I feel like I have been working on this forever. But the good news doesn't stop there. In the very same email I also received notice that I passed my very first exit level speed test, a 200 Jury. This one actually brought tears to my eyes. I can't believe that small light at the very end of the tunnel is now starting to become visible. I have to say, that special emergency day really paid off. What a way to start back to the grind after spring break! I am totally and inexplicably excited.

30 for 30

I decided to dig something out of the early years for my picture of the week. It is an oldie, but a goodie. Besides, I should share documented proof of my cuteness since it peaked so early. This is me and my cousin Serene, celebrating a joint birthday at my grandparents in upstate New York in July of 1981. As many of you know, I have been thinking a great deal of my upcoming 30th birthday. I am proud to announce that I have selected a personal theme for my festivities. Although I do realize that it sounds like a bit much, let's face it, it is kind of a big birthday, so it really should have a big theme. In true Eva fashion, I have decided not to limit myself to only one single day of celebrations. This year in its entirety is really dedicated to the year of the 30th. So in honor of this momentous milestone, and the fact that not only will I be leaving my twenties behind, but I will also be embarking on a new chapter in my life all together, I am declaring it 30 for 30. That's right, I'm doing 30 exciting, adventurous things for my 30th year. Now 30 is actually quite a big number. I have been brainstorming and penciling in ideas for my list, but it has been a bit challenging. So I am officially soliciting ideas. I would prefer them to be somewhat adventurous and something I have not yet done. Thoughts? I will keep you posted on what makes the list.

Test Marathon

Last week was test marathon and as a result I took a special emergency day from work and stayed home to test, test, test! However, I am slightly bummed as I had prepared several installments of video footage documenting my day that for some unknown reason, I have not had success posting. If I at some point am able to, I will post.
As far as the testing went, I feel somewhat pleased. I tested and transcribed on Thursday from about 9 a.m. to about 11 p.m. It was quite a long day to say the least. Even though it left me completely exhausted, I am very pleased with the results so far. Although I haven't heard back on every test, I feel somewhat surprised at a couple of the results I have received on a Lit and Jury. A couple of these exit level speed tests were surprisingly close with a score of 92.4 and a 92.7 percent. Knowing I was only a couple percentage points away is extremely exciting. Although I didn't pass, I definitely feel that I did a respectable job. I am still waiting on results for several tests, and I am crossing my fingers that I will have passed that last darn 180 Q&A, but all the same, I find my mood optimistic and hopeful. Maybe there really is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Picture of the Week

I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed---and gazed---but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:

For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.

A reason to celebrate

Although I had to wait three weeks to hear back regarding two 180 QA tests I felt really good about, and although I was hoping I had passed both, I am still thrilled to announce that I did pass one of them with a 96.1% accuracy. It's about freaking time!!!!! The second one I was hoping to pass was close as ever though with a 94.3%. This is the second time I have been painfully close. Anything less than a percentage point makes you want to scream. All the same, I'm celebrating my test pass. QAs seem to be my demon, and so I'm thankful that I'm one down. One more to go and I can start my internship hours! Woo-hoo.

Picture of the Week

Partly inspired by Michelle's Song of the Day, and partly because I've recently become obsessed with flickrs' random last 7 day images, I have decided to start posting a picture of the week. (Yes, apparently my life is that dull and I have nothing else to post.) Anyway, I was sitting at my desk practicing yesterday, and the cutest little bird fluttered by and landed on the tree branch outside my window. It reminded me that March is here and spring is finally knocking at our door. I'm all too ready for warmer temps and sunnier days. This being said, the high today should be a balmy 27 degrees. Not to fear, in true Cincinnati fashion, it will in the mid-60s by the weekend
